The ancient Royal Palace is the main attraction of Durbar Square that consists of three main chowks (courtyards) known as Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Mani Keshab Narayan Chowk. The city is surrounded by 4 stupas as 4 corners of Patan, one at each corner of its cardinal points. These stupas are said to have been built by the famous Emperor Ashoka.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur is one of the three main cities of Kathmandu Valley. This town delivers sightseeing of medieval settlement with a number of cultural and historical squares, traditional skyscraper architectures and so on.

The royal palace of Bhaktapur is located almost at the centre of the city. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a museum of medieval art and architecture with many examples of sculpture, woodcarving and colossal pagoda temples consecrated to different gods and goddesses. It is a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara-style temples grouped around a fifty-five window palace of brick and wood.
